Swiss Pediatric Oncology Group (SPOG)

The Swiss Paediatric Oncology Group (SPOG) is a non-profit organization constituted as an association that researches cancer in children and adolescents in close collaboration with leading international research groups. Our members are Swiss hospital departments that look after children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders. We work throughout Switzerland at the university hospitals in Bern, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne and Geneva and the children’s hospitals in St. Gallen, Lucerne, Aarau and Bellinzona.

Advocate Organizations

There are several Swiss advocate organizations that are engaged in the field of paediatric haematology and oncology. They provide financial, emotional, and social support to patients and their families. They also support research projects that are conducted within paediatric haematology and oncology centers or affiliated institutions. Important advocate organizations include Kinderkrebs Schweiz, Kinderkrebshilfe Schweiz, Kinderkrebshilfe Zentralschweiz, Stiftung für krebskranke Kinder ‒Regio Basiliensis, Stiftung Sonnenschein, Berner Stiftung für krebskranke Kinder und Jugendliche, Association Romande des Familles d’Enfants (ARFEC), Zoé4life, and Ostschweizer Kinderkrebshilfe. Fondation Force, Kinderkrebsforschung Schweiz, and the CANSEARCH foundation focus exclusively on funding of research.
